Lost important files? Let's try to get them back

Photos, documents, work files — losing them is gut-wrenching. If a drive is failing or your computer won't start, MidlandPCS will assess it honestly and do our best to recover what matters most.

If you think you've lost data, stop using the device right now. Don't keep restarting it, saving new files, or running recovery apps. Continuing to use a failing drive can overwrite or permanently destroy the very files you're trying to save. Power it off and bring it in — the sooner, the better.

Situations we see

When to ask us about data recovery

If any of these sound like your situation, bring the device in for an honest assessment.

Failing hard driveClicking, beeping, freezing, or files that won't open.
Dead external driveUSB or backup drive that's no longer recognized.
Computer won't bootBlack screen or error before your files ever load.

Straight talk

An honest approach to a stressful problem

Data recovery is part science, part patience — and no reputable shop can promise a result. Whether files can be recovered depends on how the device failed and what condition it's physically in. Anyone who guarantees recovery before looking at your device isn't being straight with you.

Here's our promise instead: we'll assess your device carefully, explain what we find in plain language, and tell you honestly what's realistically recoverable and what it would take — before you commit to anything.

The single best thing you can do the moment you suspect data loss: stop using the device and power it down. That alone can be the difference between recovering your files and losing them for good.

Why bring it to us

Give your files the best shot

Time and handling matter more than almost anything in data recovery. The fastest way to protect your chances is simple: stop using the device and get it to someone who can assess it properly. That's where we come in.

Bring your computer, laptop or drive to our shop on W Beltline Blvd and we'll take a careful look, tell you what we honestly think, and lay out your options — no pressure and no overpromising.

Data recovery FAQs

Your questions, answered honestly

Can you guarantee you'll get my files back?

No honest shop can guarantee data recovery, and we won't pretend otherwise. The outcome depends on how the device failed and its physical condition. What we can promise is a careful assessment and a straight answer about what's realistically recoverable before you commit to anything.

My drive is clicking / my PC won't boot — what now?

Stop using it and turn it off immediately. Repeatedly restarting a failing drive, or continuing to use it, can make the damage worse and lower your chances of recovery. Power it down and bring it to us as soon as you can.

What types of data loss can you help with?

We work on accidentally deleted files, failing or corrupted internal drives, dead or unreadable external drives, and computers that won't start. Bring the device in and we'll assess your specific situation.

What will it cost to look at it?

We'll assess the device and explain what we find before any recovery work begins, so you understand the situation and your options before you decide how to proceed.

How do I avoid losing data again?

Keep at least one backup of anything important — ideally an external drive plus a cloud backup. We're happy to help you set up a simple backup routine so a single failure never costs you your photos or files again.
